iPhone iOS 7

Here are four ways to maximize the battery life on iOS devices running iOS 7:

1. Turn Off Background Motion

The wallpapers and 3D parallax in iOS 7 are dynamic visual effects that are available on iPhone 4S and newer phones. They can also drain your battery.

2. Turn Off Location Services For Apps That Don’t Need It

More and more apps are requesting access to your location. Accurately obtaining your location via GPS and WiFi signals consumes energy, so we recommend disabling location services for applications that don’t really need to know your location. Obviously, there are good privacy reasons to do this as well 🙂

Turn off location-based services for apps by going to Settings > Privacy > Location Services:

You can also disable some of the system services that access your location. You can do this by going to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services. Many people choose to disable access to location by system services such as Location-Based iAds, Popular Near Me, Diagnostics & Usage, and Traffic.

3. Disable Background App Refresh

Background App Refresh is a new feature of iOS 7. It allows some of your apps to automatically update content when you are not using them. To maximize battery life, disable Background App Refresh for any applications that you don’t want or need background updates.

4. Turn Off AirDrop

AirDrop is the new file-sharing feature for iOS 7. It allows you to instantly share files and information with other late model iOS devices. Turning AirDrop off may increase battery life.

Turn Off AirDrop by swiping up from the bottom of your home screen (Control Center), touch AirDrop, and select OFF.

Bonus Tip: You could also increase your battery life by decreasing your time spent playing games on your iOS device. But then again, that Candy ain’t gonna Crush itself…. 😉
