This Wednesday, September 16th, Apple will release iOS 9 for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices. This software upgrade will include many new features and enhancements to existing features and tools.

We are excited about the release of iOS 9, but we are also aware that major updates to Apple’s mobile devices sometimes come with some difficulties. Previous upgrades of iOS have caused unexpected behavior on email and calendaring systems including Microsoft Exchange. Experience tells us that iOS bugs affecting email and calendars are typically discovered in the days following a release and resolved shortly thereafter.

For that reason, we recommend that our clients postpone upgrading their devices until 15 days after the software’s release. This will give Apple, Microsoft and other software vendors a chance to resolve problems that appear after iOS 9 is released.
